I have tried to make my own candles. But the perfume that I buy for them do not seem to smell the candle at all. They are scented oil for the manufacture of candles, I bought my local craft store. They smell good in the bottle, but after pouring the candle and it hardens there is no smell at all. Even when the candle burns, nothing! I even tried to pay the whole bottle of perfume oil in the wax enough to make a votive offering, which was well beyond the amount realized, but still no smell. I do not understand, if they do not work, then What should I do to scent my candles? Also I was told that if I use it for most oils, they can cause the spark to explode when is on, is this true?

Firstly, by adding too much perfume is dangerous. The wax can contain and bind to about 1 oz or so per pound, the remainder from escaping. In the case of the candles that can cause the entire surface of the candle to light, like a can of Sterno (and yes, I actually seen it happen). Take care, you should only buy high quality fragrances from reputable suppliers. Scent is the most expensive part of a candle and it is really the most important for your personal enjoyment and, if the sale of customer loyalty. Crop quality is when the odor these large companies make their biggest mistake. I recommend you watch some of the sites I provided links to take a lesson, or buy a book introduction Video.
